Marine Education Activities and Programs Information:

Saltwater Eco specialises in creating bespoke Outdoor Learning Experiences for small to medium sized groups of local and International Students.

We design and facilitate marine and environmentally focused programs bringing together recreation, education, conservation and culture. Our primary objective is to connect your students to the natural world, showcasing the best that our region has to offer; in a fun, safe and interactive way.

Program itineraries can be as simple as a single, half day activity through to numerous activities
over multiple days.

Activities We Offer:

Marine Education Above and Below the Water:

The Matakana Coast boasts two worlds class Marine Reserves; Goat Island and Tawharanui and the environmentally significance Whangateau Harbour, prized for it’s unique mangrove snorkeling.

Programs can include one or more of the following activities:

Learning to Surf for Schools:

Surfing a the perfect way to connect to the ocean, and the beautiful whites sand beaches and clear waters of Omaha Beach offer safe and enjoyable learner waves, perfect for beginners.

Our Education Team:

The Saltwater Eco team have over 15 years’ experience creating and managing outdoor recreation, education and conservation focused programs and tours in New Zealand and overseas. Our diverse background and extensive skill set enable us to create bespoke outdoor education programs specifically designed for your students.

Our passionate staff facilitate high quality and interactive tuition, all activity equipment is provided, along with our in-house created educational resources.

Operator Information:

Safety is our number one priority.

All activities offered have accompanying Risk Assessment (RAMS) and Emergency Management System (EMS) documentation. All activity guides/instructors hold a current Outdoor First Aid certificate and relevant Activity Qualifications to the relevant level in line with Saltwater Eco’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Availability:

Term 1, Term 2 and Term 4.
